H&M has these thick, 200 denier tights: <a href="http://www.hm.com/us/product/93990?article=93990-A" rel="nofollow">http://www.hm.com/us/product/93990?artic...</a> Thick tights are less popular, and it's hard to find them in colors. However We Love Colors has these 80 denier tights in many colors: <a href="http://www.welovecolors.com/Shop/LycraSolidColorMicroFiberTights.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.welovecolors.com/Shop/LycraSo...</a> They're thick enough to not have a see-through look. You really can't get a good pair of tights for $5, but the 80 and 200 denier tights should last much longer than thinner, cheaper tights, so they're a good value.

Perhaps Target? They have a great selection of tights at my local Target. I doubt you will be able to find thick tights under $5, though. If you do, that's great! Good luck. :)
