i take a cross body bag all I really put in there is a binder and if I have to take a textbook I just carry and I don't really have any lockers in my school so yeah I suggest backpack if no lockers anything else then take a tote

Backpack all the way! Tote bags will make your shoulder ache if there is a lot of weight!

backpack for sure! just make sure you don't make the mistake I did freshman year and buy one half the size of yourself. big enough to carry yourself, but not tooo big.

Bring a backpack and put it in your locker. Then make sure you carry a purse around all day. Get a cute backpack though.
