I look really ugly why?

I can relate to what you're going through, in middle school I had bad acne, which turned into black spots.(mind you that I am dark skinned Nigerian)I was also mistaken for a boy just about everyday and even at 17 it still occasionally happens.

Since you've tried the conventional way,and I tried it too for my acne before,I would do a self diagnostics of your acne.Acne can be caused for many reasons some include poor diet, I switched to more natural,or organic foods, lack of exercise and genetics. If your family has a past of bad acne than you may have gotten it.Most of my family has flawless skin except me and my sister.I unlike her began to take care of my acne by cleansing my face twice a day once in the morning and once at night with either a baking soda scrub, which lifts whatever dirt or grime trapped in your pores. This will leave your face dry though so moisturize right away with a lightweight oil, like jojoba.i do a baking soda scrub once of twice a week, I use Bentonite clay everyday in the morning and night to cleanse my face it leaves the skin soft, but dry do I moisturize right after I am done.if you skin is irritated I would try a milk and sugar scrub, which is a lot gentler on the face p,the sugar exfoliate the skin and the milk softens and calms the irritated skin.Sea salt scrubs are also great for the skin and quick and easy to do,just grab about a tablespoon or so of salt and scrub lightly on a wet face.Natural real honey is also a god sent on the skin it leave is smooth and soft,I do a two finger dip in some honey(I have one reserve for beauty only and dap it on my face it helps pull out some of the gunk from our faces, and after you wash it off,it's like instant smooth skin.A gelatin facial mask, which is just a paste of hot water and gelatin rubbed onto face helps to get of blackheads.

For really big bad pimples I use either Tea tree oil or Clove oil,not straight from the bottle(cause it kind of stings)if you have sensitive skin, mix it with a carrier oil like jojoba then apply it to the pimples,in about two weeks of so the pimples will be smaller, and for acne scars I use lemon oil or lemon juice.

An imbalance of hormones may also be the problem too, like with my sister, she's about the same age as you and is covered, not even lying from head to toe in pimples and dark bumps. We went to the doctors and they said she had a hormonal imbalance, they advised her to change her diet from lesser processed foods to more natural foods(like fresh fruit and veggies)and told her to drink enough water. They also said to stay away from products with harsh chemicals,my rule is if I can't spell, say or don't know what it is I don't use it,or I do my research about it.She didn't take the advice and still has this acne all over her body.

Well anyways everyone in life goes through what I like to call an "Ugly Phase" for a good 4 years,I didn't and refused to take pictures,so there's a gap in my life where there are almost absolutely no photos of me because I thought I was too ugly for them, even now with my skin clear I still refuse to take pictures with friends, and drop everything I am doing to dash out of a camera's sight.

Anyways one of the home remedies fro my fav natural sights is bound to help, here are just a few of my fav ones

And many more just google and you"ll find a treasure of cheap home remedies available, and remember ugly isn't an outside thing, but an inside thing,I've seen people who are gorgeous but because of their nasty personalities people regard them as ugly, and you seem like a nice kid,so I doubt you're ugly.

Stay strong girl,

Halimat.

Try using baking soda to exfoliate your face, rinse it off with warm water, then mix oatmeal and water and leave it on till it gets tight so about 15 min, next put on the mint julep mask, you can find it at walgreens. After that use pure honey on your face, let it sit for atleast 5 min, and lastly use a good moisturizer thats non oily, i use Aveeno. Btw...acne does not define beauty.

I understand the acne troubles. I started getting acne when I was in 5th grade and it didn't go away until my freshman year of college. My sister's roommate was the one that turned me onto my current face routine.

Try Cetaphil face wash. It doesn't come in a pretty bottle or smell like sunshine, but it works...and works well. It's actually one of the top recommended products by dermatologists. Wash your face twice a day with it- morning and night. I also use CeraVe face lotion. It's really light on the skin and works well. I also have a acne spot treatment cream that I got from my dermatologist...so maybe you could go back to yours and tell them the medicine isn't working and ask about a cream instead. Also try using a facial exfoliate once a week.

Other tips: wash your pillowcase once a week....just throw it in when your mom does laundry...and flip it over through out the week. this will wash off any dirt and oil and dead skin that accumulates on it. look up how to properly wash your makeup brushes and clean them every 2 weeks. if you do wear makeup...stop using foundation. try a BB cream instead...it's better for your skin while the foundation will clog your pores. if you can't go without it...look for "acne fighting" formulas.

I'm also on birth control. It might seem weird to ask your parents about it...but look up research on how it helps your skin (because it may be a hormonal thing) and show it to your parents to see if they would be alright with getting you on a low dose of birth control.

You need to give this time. Acne isn't going to go away in 2 days...it needs to heal from the inside. Be gentle to your skin and don't pick at the spots. All the things I listed combined together have really helped me. I saw results in about a week....and my face was clear about a month later. The Cetaphil and CeraVe (depending on the bottle size) run about $12-$19 a bottle...but it lasts about 1.5-2 months.

Lastly, i know it's easier said then done...but stop worrying about what other's think. Odds are you're noticing it more about yourself then other people are and that's stressing you out and adding to the acne. If people are going to judge you because you're going through puberty (like every other person on the planet) then that's on them and not your problem. You are not ugly...you're lacking self esteem. It sounds cheesy, but look up motivational quotes or remind yourself of all the things your thankful for to help you gain a positive outlook. You have plenty of time to have a boyfriend. I didn't have my first boyfriend until my sophomore year of college. You'll be fine :)

all my products are from clean and clear. they help a lot so enjoy. (these are in order btw)
